Our wine tasting on Friday 25th January was a huge success.

We invited piq Aussie wine merchant Bob and 50 of our customers to an evening of education and laughter.

Bob is so proud of his home country that he offered a most amazing wine - Australian Riesling. We all thought it would be like the old favourite Liebfraumilch from the B0s - but no - it had a hint of diesel followed by loads of lime. This was the most controversial wine of the night. People either hated it or loved it.

Most agreed it went amazingly well with the albondigas, or Spanish pork meatballs in a rich tomato sauce.

After numerous jibes about his origins, Bob has decided to exact his revenge by showcasing some of the best value Australian Shiraz wines, expertly matched to locally sourced food.
